A Whole New Look, Built to Last
Most of what fails on a siding job happens behind the siding. Water finds a window head with no flashing, a seam with no backing, a wall wrap that was stapled on and never lapped correctly, and it sits there. New boards over that assembly hide the problem for a few seasons and then you are looking at the same stains again, only now there is a fresh wall of siding in front of them.
A full siding replacement is the chance to fix all of it at once. We strip the old cladding off completely, look at every square foot of sheathing while it is open, replace whatever is soft, and rebuild the water management layer from scratch: wrap lapped the right direction, sill pans under the windows, head flashing over every opening, and a drainage gap where the material calls for one.

Siding Replacement Questions
See All FAQsA typical single family house runs one to two weeks of working days, depending on square footage, how many stories, how much trim detail there is, and what we find once the old siding is off. Weather moves it too. We give you a realistic window rather than a best case one, and we tell you the day it changes.
Cost tracks square footage, the material you choose, how complicated the elevations are, and how much rot is waiting behind the old wall. That last one is the reason nobody honest quotes a reside over the phone. We measure every elevation on site and send an itemized estimate you can actually compare against another bid.
No. We tear off and dry in the same wall on the same day. Nothing stays open overnight without weather barrier on it, which matters here more than almost anywhere else we could be working.
We stop, photograph it, and bring you a written price for the repair before we carry on. Some rot is expected on an older house and it is usually a few sheets of sheathing. You will never learn about extra scope for the first time on the final invoice.
Yes, almost everyone does. It is loud during tear off and there will be a dumpster and staging in the driveway, but the interior is untouched and you keep your doors and windows. We sweep the site with a magnet every evening.
It can. Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint on the siding or trim. Federal rules require contractors who disturb painted surfaces in those homes to follow lead safe work practices and to give the owner an EPA lead hazard pamphlet before work starts. Tell us the year your house was built when you call and we will explain what applies to your job.
Some cities require one for a full reside and some do not. We check your jurisdiction, pull it when it is needed, and the cost shows up as its own line on the estimate rather than buried in the total.
For most Puget Sound homes James Hardie fiber cement is the default, because it does not rot, does not burn, and holds a finish for years. LP SmartSide engineered wood is the lighter, faster answer where a noncombustible wall is not required. Metal is for a modern elevation that wants the crispest line on the street. Cedar is for people who want the grain and accept the maintenance. Vinyl is the budget option. We bring samples to the estimate and give you a straight recommendation for your house.
Why Choose Sealed Siding?
Our Work, Done Right
- A fixed written price before tear off: Your estimate is itemized by elevation and material, and it is the number you pay unless you change the scope or we find rot, which we price in writing before we touch it.
- Every wall photographed while it is open: You see the sheathing, the framing, and the flashing details on your own house, not a stock photo of somebody else's. The set stays with your file.
- The water layer rebuilt, not reused: New weather barrier, new sill pans, new head flashing, new kick out at every roof to wall transition. The old wrap goes in the dumpster with the old siding.
- One crew from tear off to walkthrough: The same people start and finish your house. No handoff to a second outfit halfway through, and nobody leaves a wall open overnight without it being dried in.
