Covered in Writing, Not in Conversation

Every job carries a written workmanship warranty on top of whatever the manufacturer covers on the siding itself. Here is exactly what that means, what it does not include, and how to use it.

Three Layers of Protection

Two come from us, one comes from the manufacturer. All three start the day we finish.

  • 10 years

    Workmanship

Our labor on full siding replacement. If a seam opens, a fastener backs out, or flashing we installed lets water past, we come back and fix it at no cost.

  • Up to LIFETIME

    Manufacturer materials

The siding itself is covered by its maker against defects, splitting, and delamination. Term, limits, and conditions are set by the manufacturer and vary by product, and some are prorated. Ask us for the written warranty for your product before you sign, and we register it in your name at closeout.

  • 1 year

    Repairs & Partial Work

Targeted repairs and rot work carry their own workmanship coverage, separate from a full siding replacement.

What the workmanship warranty covers

Workmanship means the parts of the job that are ours: how the siding was cut, fastened, flashed, sealed, and finished. If any of that fails to perform, the fix is on us, including labor and materials.

  • Seams, joints, and butt ends that open or separate
  • Fasteners that back out, blow through, or stain the face
  • Flashing, drip edge, and penetration details we installed
  • Water intrusion traced to our installation rather than to the product
  • Trim, corner, and soffit work that pulls loose

What the manufacturer covers

Product defects belong to the maker: cracking, splitting, delamination, and finish failure on prefinished panels. These warranties are typically long, often prorated in later years, and usually transferable once. We register your coverage and hand you the paperwork at the final walkthrough.

If a product fails, we handle the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. You do not need to chase them yourself.

Is it transferable?

Yes, once, to the next owner of the home within the coverage period. Send us the closing date and the new owner name and we will reissue the certificate. It is a genuine selling point when you list the house.

What Is Not Covered

We would rather be clear about this up front than argue about it later.

  • Natural characteristics of wood siding, including checking, minor cracking, grain raise, and color change over time
  • Cosmetic cracks that do not affect performance or let water in
  • Damage from settling, shifting soil, or foundation movement
  • Storm, fire, flood, falling trees, hail, and other acts of nature
  • Impact damage, vandalism, or accident
  • Failure caused by work another contractor performed after us
  • Fading, chalking, or finish wear on field applied paint beyond the paint manufacturer term
  • Neglect, including gutters left to overflow onto the wall or vegetation allowed to grow against the siding
